PAEA Honors Its Faculty Award Recipients, Grant Recipients, and Research Mentors
Nearly 500 Forum attendees were present for PAEA’s awards luncheon, PAEA’s primary venue to honor its annual award recipients, transitioning board and committee members, and those funded during the year’s research cycles. For the first time, participants in the Research Institute’s new mentor program were also recognized. More >

Project Access Outreach Events Conducted During Forum at Six Baltimore Sites

During the Education Forum the Committee on Ethnic and Cultural Diversity conducted six Project Access site visits at Career Academy; Edmondson-Westside High School; Prince George’s Community College; Stevenson University; University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus; and Youth Opportunity School. Volunteer PA students, practicing PAs, and faculty from programs in and around Baltimore met with youth from under-represented populations to inspire and motivate them to pursue careers as PAs. PAEA Staff Visits Four Western Programs
During the week of November 8−12, Athena Abdullah, director of government relations, and Ayeshia Pompey, manager, applicant and student services, met with program directors and staff at four PA education programs: MEDEX–University of Washington, A.T. The New GRE Revised General Test and Scoring System

Beginning in August 2011, the GRE revised General Test will include changes that are designed to ensure that the exam is more closely aligned with the skills needed by successful applicants to graduate programs as well as changes to the way the test is scored. New Online Surveys Launching in January

EPAT Idea Swap at Annual Education Forum; NHSC FY 2011 Loan Repayment Application Cycle Opens
Over 25 educators who are grantees under the EPAT Program met at the Annual Education Forum to discuss student selection criteria and selection committee composition. The NHSC will send out an email on Monday, November 22, about the opening of the FY 2011 Loan Repayment Application Cycle.  More >
AAPA/PAEA Research Grants Cycle Now Open
AAPA and PAEA announce their joint 2010/2011 research grants program. With funding up to $20,000 available, proposals are being accepted for research related to the PA profession and workforce issues. The submission deadline is February 27. More >
PACKRAT Version 15 Available Now
PAEA is pleased to announce that version 15 of the Physician Assistant Clinical Knowledge Rating and Assessment Tool (PACKRAT) was released on November 3. Programs can order the PACKRAT exam by sending an email to Liaison International, Inc. More >
